Teacher Training Programs
The Yearly Round:
There is a different emphasis in each half of the year. The year falls naturally into two parts. From midwinter to midsummer the days are getting longer and a yearning stirs within the soul of the human being to become involved with the active life – the vita activa as our medieval counterparts understood it. From midsummer to midwinter the daylight decreases and a desire for a more contemplative existence stirs within the human breast – the vita contemplativa to medieval man.
Correspondingly, our studies in the fall center around Anthroposophy and the inward path; whilst those after mid-winter emphasize child development and the more active side of the work.
“Waldorf Education rests on actual teaching practice. It only lives when it is carried out, for it intends nothing more or less than life itself. In actual fact, it cannot truly be described it must be experienced.” Rudolf Steiner : Arlesheim July 1924
